  We are proud to announce

that O' Bryant Primary has made the TEBC Honor 2008 Roll for the third year in a row!

  Important Reminders

* Do not allow your children to bring articles to school that could be harmful to others or distrupt the learning process.  Students should not bring toys, electronic games, radios, Ipods/ mp3 players, CDs or CD players, cameras, large sums of money, expensive jewelry, laser pointers, or animals. Cell phones are not allowed at our school.  If a cell phone is found parents will be notified and a $30.00 fee will be assesssed if multiple violations occur.

* At the end of the day parents may wait outside of the building for their children.  The teachers are responsible for their entire class and they are put in an unfavorable situation if parents bring children to the room late, or come early in order to beat the rush.

*The Tardy Bell rings each day at 8:05 AM.  Any students arriving to class after morning announcements will be asked to get a Tardy Slip from the office. Students who exceed 10 Tardy Slips need to make up missed time in an after-school detention or other actions as deemed appropriate by the OBP Attendance Committee.  We appreciate everything our parents do to help our students achieve a quality education.

  Character Counts!

The character trait for the 3rd 6-weeks is Responsibility. We will be wearing green on Wednesday, November 11. Green is used to represent being responsible for a garden or finances, or as in being solid and reliable like an oak. You can help your child learn more about responsibility by reinforcing the following:

• Do what you are supposed to do

• Persevere: keep on trying!

• Always do your best

• Use self-control

• Be self-disciplined

• Think before you act-consider the consequences

• Be accountable for your choices

Parenting Tip: If you have not already, you might find something around the house that can be the sole responsibility of your child (feeding/watering a pet, taking out the trash, washing dishes). Build up this responsibility by letting them know that you are counting on them to do their part. Monitor them to ensure they are following through. If they are successful, praise them and let them know you can trust them because they are reliable. If they are not successful, refocus them and give them a little help, and let them try again. By reinforcing the positive and being a responsible role model for them, you can teach them a valuable lifelong lesson that will help them be a better person.

JUST A REMINDER…    SchoolCenter Picture

Live Oak Street which runs parallel to the OBryant Primary Car Drop-off / Pick-up is a ONE WAY street during specific hours of the day. LEFT turns out of the drop drive are not allowed. Please adhere to these guidelines to maintain a safe environment for our children during the hectic before & after school hours. Also, please remember that there is "No Parking " on Live Oak during these same hours. I understand that parking is very limited.

Posted hours for one way traffic are:

7:30-9:00 AM

2:00-4:00 PM

The car line can be very long and move slowly, especially at the start of a new school year. We strive to become more efficient in loading / unloading the children. I believe the traffic flow would be more efficient in the afternoon if all cars would post a sign in the windshield of the name(s) of the child / children to be picked up.

Thank you all for your cooperation with these safety guidelines. Please call or stop by if you have additional questions or concerns.

Tardy Policy SchoolCenter Picture

It is very important that students are in school as much as possible if they are to achieve a quality education.  The Tardy Bell rings each day at 8:05 AM.  Any students arriving to class after this bell has sounded will be asked to get a Tardy Slip.  Students who exceed 10 Tardy Slips need to make up missed time in an after-school detention or other actions as deemed appropriate by the OBP Attendance Committee.  We appreciate everything our parents do to help our students achieve a quality education.

A copy of our Field Trip Permission slip is available on the administration page.
